If you are Jewish, you have seen all the news stories about religious men not wanting to be placed near a woman on a flight... 😡
I got a killer seat that was both an isle and a window. Who knew!? I asked the flight attendant how full the flight was and he said not full and that the seat next to me was probably going to stay open. 🤩
A religious man walks up and realizes I am in the seat next to him. His face squinted a bit as he must have quickly tried to brainstorm a solution. My guess is that he was thinking it was a choice between making a scene or just dealing with it. To my surprise, he sat down. 😲
Do I tell him it’s not a full flight and that there are probably more seats for him? Eek. I don’t want to make this more awkward. 🤔
We sat next to each other for a bit. 🤐
The flight attendant comes back and asks this religious man if we were together. He answers no. And so casually the flight attendant offers him another row to himself. 🥳
Moral of the story? The religious guy and I didn’t want to be next to each other. I wanted an extra seat to myself, he didn’t want to be near a woman, and the flight attendant didn’t want drama. 👍🏽
Everybody wins! 🎉
This is not rocket science. 🚀
Thank you to the flight crew on Alitalia! It was a fantastic flight that I slept through the entirety of. 😴
